Indonesia and Global Politics 2025: 70 Years of the Asian-African Conference, Great Power Politics, and the Global South

As part of the lead-up to ICON-IR 2026, HI UNPAR held a public seminar marking the 70th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference to discuss Indonesia’s challenges amid global uncertainty. The seminar highlighted key issues such as geopolitics, climate change, energy, and digital transformation, while emphasizing adaptive diplomacy and regional cooperation to strengthen Indonesia’s role in global stability.

Public Diplomacy Fair 2025

The International Relations Study Program of UNPAR held the 2025 Public Diplomacy Fair (PDF) themed “When Students Become Cultural Ambassadors of Global South Countries,” providing a creative platform for students to showcase the cultures of Asia, Africa, and Latin America through interactive booths, performances, and culinary displays. By acting as cultural ambassadors, students highlighted the role of cultural and people-to-people diplomacy in fostering mutual understanding, solidarity, and global cooperation amid contemporary challenges.

Surviving the Global Storm: Strategies for Small Nations to Refuse to Become Victims

The International Relations Study Program of UNPAR held the 2025 Public Diplomacy Fair themed “When Students Become Cultural Ambassadors of Global South Countries,” where students showcased the cultures of Asia, Africa, and Latin America through interactive booths, performances, and culinary displays, highlighting the role of cultural and people-to-people diplomacy in fostering mutual understanding and global cooperation.

Harmony in Practice: The New Chinese Diaspora (Xin Yimin 新移民) and Southeast Asia’s Intercultural Relations and Foreign Policy

Harmony in Practice explores how globalization has reshaped Chinese migration to Southeast Asia and highlights the role of new Chinese migrants (xin yimin) in promoting cross-cultural interaction and social harmony. It examines their contributions to cultural exchange, economic, educational, and media cooperation, as well as their significance in supporting China’s diplomacy of harmony and shaping future China–ASEAN relations amid persistent political and economic challenges.

Outlook 2026: Arah Dunia Berubah, Apa Artinya?

Great powers are competing for greater room to maneuver, putting regional stability under increasing strain. International cooperation is shifting into smaller, more limited frameworks, while international organizations that once served as key reference points are no longer as influential as they once were. These shifts are captured in the 2026 Outlook and explored further at the International Conference on International Relations (ICON-IR) 2026, themed “The Weak [NOT] Suffer What They Must, The Strong Do What They Can.”

HI UNPAR Attends Coffee Talks with SBY, Discusses Challenges in International Dynamics

The International Relations Study Program of Universitas Katolik Parahyangan (HI UNPAR) participated in Coffee Talks with SBY, a strategic forum organized by The Yudhoyono Institute bringing together academics, policymakers, and young leaders to discuss contemporary global dynamics. Featuring Indonesia’s 6th President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the discussion examined key global strategic issues and highlighted HI UNPAR’s commitment to contributing to global policy discourse amid evolving international challenges.
